Dark and ethereal, LITTRELL’s brand of dark pop/alt rock/trip hop is the most arresting and original music you’re likely to find this year or any other. The Indianapolis/LA-based group excels at being compelling, cinematic, and unforgettable. Core members Lindsay Littrell (lead vocals, keyboards, synths, percussion, songwriting, production) and Garrett Langebartels (lead guitar, bass, synths, percussion, engineering, production) have found something that’s both gritty and magical in the way their creative personalities intertwine that will quickly pull you into their often-hypnotic world and make you want to stay.
LITTRELL has already released a string of singles, the most recent being “Love Songs,” which dropped in February 2024. Much new music is in the works, as Lindsay Littrell (they/them) is a prolific and productive songwriter with a lot to say. Their artistry sits upon a lifetime of influences. They began their journey young surrounded by early contemporary Christian music as the child of a Tennessee preacher and later came under the spell of secular greats like Prince, Janet Jackson, Sting/The Police, Rickie Lee Jones, Radiohead and Meshell Ndegeocello. Lindsay has the rare ability to combine their inspirations, build on them, and create music that sounds like no one but themself.
Garrett Langebartels (he/him) comes from a musical family in Indiana. He was drawn to the guitar and songwriting as a small child and began his engineering career on a sketchy recording setup as a teen. His central genres are blues, folk, and indie rock but he’s been molded in one way or another by everything from bluegrass to rap. He’s a skilled recordist and multi-instrumentalist who makes an ideal partner for Lindsay. As a unit, the two musicians are deep and inventive. They connect in all the right places and complement in all the others.
